Which fabric best suits this quilt
Design it.
It all begins with an idea. sometimes a colour story. sometimes pattern on a fabric. everything around sparks inspiration. then the fun begins as the fabric is chosen, sorted from the darkest to the lightest, to either suit the dark/light design (as above) or mixed for the element of surprise
All pinned and ready to be quilted
Sew it.
Then on with the sewing…. I sew in an altered log cabin quilting method using 2” wide fabric strips. which I either cut myself or come from Jelly Rolls. they are all sewn together. once they are all sewn this becomes the quilt top, this is then pin to the wadding and backing fabric (as above)
Finished! #Nice and cosy
Quilt it.
on with the quilting. this is where i can really have fun deciding on where to place my feather designs and to see if any other quilting designs will be incorporated into the quilt (as above) it is then time to bind the edges. and the quilt is ready to be treasured for years to come. #nice and cosy
